MalX is a cybersecurity platform that allows researchers and organizations to create, manage, and deliver Python-based vulnerability tests. Each test follows MITRE’s classification system, helping users address a wide range of security threats.

The client asked Techstack Digital to build the entire platform from the beginning. The goal was to develop a system that works reliably and is easy for both security teams and administrators to use.

What we did for them

UI/UX Design

As a UI/UX consultant, we focused on building a user-friendly interface for MalX that simplifies cybersecurity testing tasks. Using our UI/UX design and development services, we created a high-fidelity dashboard where users can browse tests, download executables, and manage or modify test creation. The layout supports both administrators and regular users by providing clear access to testing tools and system controls. As a team of UI and UX designer and developer professionals, we added components like Test Detail and Package Drawers with clear visual indicators to show when executables are available. We also included package management features that let users run test bundles and allow admins to update or create new ones. To support developers, we integrated REST API documentation built with the drf yasg library, showing all endpoints and data formats used across the system.

Web Development

In the development phase, we built MalX as a full-scale enterprise web application. As a frontend web development company, we focused on performance and ease of use. The core system includes an executable compiler that converts Python-based tests into runnable files, triggered automatically on test creation or updates. This runs via Celery and Docker containers preloaded with PyInstaller. The compiled files are stored in a shared database, accessible system-wide. Our approach to SaaS web application development ensures cross-platform compatibility, reduced deployment issues, and aligns with best practices in custom web applications development.
